We’re just gonna skirt around the fact that these adorable photos were not taken in South Carolina, but at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington DC. The Darlings are one of the most adorable families I have ever met. I met Ashley while I was working at Spring Arbor University in Michigan. We connected again when she asked me to capture her maternity and newborn photos of her oldest daughter. Over the years, I have had the pleasure to capture her family’s extended family images!
I was headed home from a photography workshop out of state and took a detour to Virginia/DC to visit with them after they moved from Michigan. I said, “I have my camera, let’s go take some photos real quick!” and we hopped in the car! I had never been to Washington DC so we checked out the Lincoln Memorial and the Washington Monument. The girls were absolutely precious and it broke my heart to have to head back home. Someday, I will get to travel back and explore the city and maybe even check out the White House, and of course, get the Darlings in front of my camera once more!
